Hello to all of the ladies of Local 12-591!

Thanks for checking out the Women of Steel page! If we haven't met my name is Alyssa, and I'm currently serving as the local's Women of Steel representative. I've gotten off to a bit of a slow start in the role but aim to be reaching out and starting Women's Committee meetings in the future. Dates, times, and agenda  for these meetings is TBD but I want these events to be fun and foster sisterhood within the union as much as possible. Check back here for updates regarding the Women's Committee. 

I've been doing some research and essentially what I've learned so far is that that WOS generally aims to support USW community action, identify possible women's issues in USW workplaces, and ensure women's voices are heard within the union. We're lucky to already have lots of great women and supportive men in leadership roles within the local already. Feel free to email me at the contact info below with issues you'd like brought to E-board meetings, or local meetings. Any ideas for the direction of this group going forward is appreciated too. This group is really going to be what we make of it. Let's make something great.
